Where do we work?

We  travel throughout the UK to provide on-site training to private and public organisations.

Each training event is designed to maximise the participants mastery of effective clinical CBT skills. Powerpoint presentations are avoided or kept to a minimum, and real time demonstrations with clinical examples are utilised. Participants are given opportunities to develop the necessary CBT skills within the session, so that they can go away and start utilising the skills with their own case load. The size of the training groups is kept small in order to maximise the opportunity for individual feedback on the acquisition of skills.

Training is delivered by BABCP accredited trainers. A certificate is awarded on completion of the course which can be used towards BABCP accreditation as a Cognitive Therapist.

The workshops below are examples of  training events that can be provided. Additional training can be tailor-made to the needs of individual organisations

The aims and content of each module are provided below:

Motivational Interviewing and Socratic Dialogue

Motivational Interviewing was originally developed as a therapeutic style to help with addictions. However in the past 10 years or so the same style has been shown to enhance therapeutic work generally. Before you rush in, giving your client strategies and homework exercises, have you explored if your client is 'ready to change'?. And how does your own style of interaction affect your client's readiness to change?  This workshop provides practical instruction in the use of motivational interviewing to enhance CBT. A useful workshop for health care workers, not just in the field of addictions, but any area where motivation to make changes in lifestyle is an issue. This can include diet, exercise or behavioural assignments in CBT.
